j2 Universal Tool-Kit Powers Thales Augmented Reality Simulator as Part of the Aeralis Project

Aeralis are already well advanced in using the j2 Universal Tool-Kit to support their agile aircraft design process.  j2 software provides a dynamic modelling environment for evaluating flight dynamics and handling qualities on the Aeralis modular aircraft alongside other tools from major partners such as Atkins and Siemens. 

The Flight Dynamics and Engine Model (FDEM), developed in the j2 Universal Tool-Kit, can now be directly integrated, through the use of the j2 Host, into the simulators provided by Thales Training and Simulation (TTS). This integration enables the engineering simulator to remain in touch with each step change in the aircraft development, combining additional systems models and providing a complete engineering simulation capability. As the project progresses the already proven integration step covers the full range of capability from lower fidelity mixed reality systems to high fidelity aircraft development & on into pilot training devices.

This ability mirrors previous work j2 have performed with Embraer where j2 delivered the benefits of being able to change the model, analyse and fly any variant instantly, which helped accelerate the overall engineering development process on the KC390.
