John Jeffery

John Jeffery is the founder and CEO of J2 Aircraft Dynamics; he holds a M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering, from North Carolina State University, and has the architectural responsibility for the j2 Universal Tool-Kit software.

John has over 25 years’ experience in aeronautical and aerospace engineering and was awarded the BAE Systems Chairman’s award in 1994 for his work on the Eurofighter Typhoon. Using techniques and processes he developed, he solved 40% of the flight envelope expansion in a period of 6 months that a team of 8 had not been able to do in the previous 10 years. By developing these methods and processes further along with additional advanced modelling techniques the j2 Universal Tool-Kit, a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software became a reality.

Most recently John has provided technical advice to multiple major aerospace companies including Airbus Defence and Space, Embraer, Beechcraft, Cessna, Elbit, Thales, L3-com, Lockheed Martin, Brazilian Airforce, Marshall ADG, EDM UK Ltd, ESi, L3 Harris, TRU Training and Simulation and the Brazilian CTA.

In addition, John has provided consultancy and air accident expertise for Clyde & Co, Foran Glennon, HK Law and Gates Aviation, ESI Inc as well as acting as expert witness in Crown ‘v’ Scott Hoyle (Tiger Moth) and Crown ‘v’ Andy Hill (Shoreham) as well working for insurers on Gulfstream G4 and Dassault Falcon 50EX high-profile business jet air accidents.

John is the author of a number of technical papers and regularly contributes to major aviation conferences.

His substantial international experience and expertise in growing sales in technically complex applications from grass roots across a variety of cultures and languages has contributed substantially to j2’s commercial progress and success.

Paul has helped build senior and highly influential relationships with leading aircraft manufacturing and aircraft simulation companies, including Airbus Defence and Space, Embraer, Boeing, CAE, L3-com, Rockwell Collins, L3 Harris, TRU Training and Simulation and Lockheed Martin. Paul leads the overall capability in Air Accident Investigation and works with the world’s leading aviation insurers, aviation lawyers, forensic engineering and loss adjusting companies.

Paul has presented papers at a number of conferences globally and at Lloyds of London on behalf of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London on advances in air accident investigation modelling and analysis techniques.

Our Mission

Our mission is to build on a Technical Leadership Position and continue to develop the definitive process for flight physics based analysis for design, simulation, and flight test/flight matching from concept through to certification.

Background

j2 Aircraft Dynamics Ltd is a UK Company, based in the North West of England. Following the successful development of an innovative aviation concurrent analysis and design ‘Tool-Kit’ for aircraft design, this ‘new’ capability was initially demonstrated in preliminary design of the Piper Jet. j2 now sells the j2 Universal Tool-Kit into the global aerospace industry for all aspects of design, development, simulation and flight test. j2 is highly experienced in working with US Military contractors under ITAR Licenses especially in the high fidelity fixed wing and rotary fields.
